[cm_tooltip_parse][/cm_tooltip_parse]Yoichi 10year is back, this time from the Yoichi aging products that were discontinued in August 2015!

At that time, Yoichi “10years”, “12 years”, “15 years”, “20 years” and Miyagikyo “10 years”, “12 years”, “15 years were sold out due to shortage of undiluted sake. If the shortage of sake continues, the three brands “Yoichi”, “Miyagikyo”, and “Taketsuru” could fall together, so the company decided to concentrate production on “Taketsuru”.

Hokkaido’s first release was on July 26, and the nationwide release was on November 15.

This will be the first time in seven years, since 2015, that an aged product with the age of maturity indicated will be released.

The announcement of the end of sales of Taketsuru 17year, Taketsuru 21year, and Taketsuru 25year in March 2020 marks a welcome return to Nikka Whisky’s product lineup after the disappearance of vintage whiskies (with age markings) from the lineup.

The price is 8,800 yen (including tax) for 9,000 bottles per year, and since Yoichi Non-Peated and Miyagikyo Peated in the “NIKKA DISCOVERY Series” released last year were in the high price range of 22,000 yen (including tax) each despite being non-aged products, this time the price will be 8,800 yen (including tax) for 9,000 bottles. The price is very reasonable for whisky lovers.

1. Where can I buy it?

It seems that only a very small number of 9,000 bottles are produced per year. It is expected to be difficult to obtain.

The first release will be in Hokkaido, so be sure to check the Yoichi distillery store on the day of the release. It is not certain if there will be a line at the store or not. Even if there is a line, it is expected to be sold out immediately. If you only want to use the store, you don’t need to make a reservation for the distillery tour.

Also, they are planning to sell it overseas, so you may be able to find it at airport duty free stores.

2. Single malt Yoichi 10years old

Single Malt Yoichi 10 Year Old” is a single malt whisky characterized by the strong and heavy flavor of the aged Yoichi malt. It has a woody sweet oak aroma, ripe banana-like fruit aroma, and a powerful and complex malt aroma. It also has a sweet and sour taste like pear and a peaty flavor reminiscent of smoked fish, and a long, pleasant aftertaste that harmonizes the heavy richness and peaty aroma. The package proudly displays the words “Yoichi” and “10 years”, and uses Japanese paper as the label material to create a high-quality atmosphere. The base color of the label is darker than that of “Single Malt Yoichi” to express a sense of maturity. Overseas sales are also planned.
