“Hibiki” is the pinnacle of blended whisky that Japan boasts to the world.
It is said to be a blend of long matured raw materials carefully selected from more than 800,000 unique raw materials produced and stored at the three distilleries owned by Suntory in Japan: Yamazaki Distillery, Hakushu Distillery, and Chita Distillery.
Hibiki is a masterpiece of Suntory whisky, created by the traditional blending techniques that have been cultivated over the 100 years since the Yamazaki distillery started operations in 1923.
The “Hibiki 21 Year Old” introduced here is blended from raw materials that have been matured for more than 21 years. It is a luxurious whisky that can only be made possible by Suntory, which has a long history of whisky making.

The Yamazaki Distillery was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory, who decided to make whisky with a passion to create a Japanese whisky that would suit the delicate taste of the Japanese people.

In order to produce a different type of malt whisky from the Yamazaki distillery, the Hakushu distillery searched for the best water for making whisky and selected Hakushu, one of the most famous water areas in Japan, from a nationwide survey. In 1973, exactly 50 years after the Yamazaki distillery started operations, Suntory’s second malt whisky distillery, Hakushu Distillery, began operations.

The Chita Distillery is located on the Chita Peninsula overlooking Ise Bay, where corn-based grain whisky has been supported. The Chita Distillery uses a continuous distillation system to produce three types of grain whisky: clean, medium and heavy, which is unique in the world.

A profound harmony with the ultimate in sweetness
The malt used in this blend is carefully selected from malt that has been aged for more than 21 years. The malt is carefully selected and blended with malt aged 21 years or more, and the grain is also carefully selected and blended with malt aged 21 years or more.
You can enjoy the luxurious harmony of the raw materials that only Suntory’s wide variety of raw materials can provide. The aroma is extremely fruity and sweet, reminiscent of flowers. 7. Summary
On Wednesday, July 12, 2017, Hibiki 21 Year won the top prize of all 1408 spirits at the ISC, which decides the top of spirits, held in London, England. It was the first time for Hibiki to be awarded in Japan. It is the best blended whisky available in Japan, both in name and reality. If you find it in a bar, you’re lucky. If you find it in a liquor store, it’s a big deal. Since it is a blended whisky, you can of course drink it with a splash of water, but if you were asked how you would like to drink it, I would definitely recommend drinking it straight. You will surely have a good night.

Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky, devoted his life to brewing whisky in Japan. This is a revised and reprinted version of the autobiography of a man who simply loved whisky and talked about himself. The book vividly depicts the days when he went to Scotland alone to study as a young man and overcame many hardships to complete Japanese whisky, as well as his companion, Rita.
(4). A Letter of Challenge from a New Generation Distillery
Launching in 2019. With the world experiencing an unprecedented whisky boom, what were the managers of craft distilleries thinking and what were their thoughts as they took on the challenge of making whisky? This book tells the stories of 13 craft distillery owners, including Ichiro Hido of Venture Whisky, famous for his Ichirose Malt, who inspired the birth of craft distilleries in Japan.

This is the Japanese version of Whisky Risng, published in the US in 2016, with much updated content. Not only does it describe the history of Japanese whisky in detail, but it also includes data on all the distilleries in Japan, including the craft distilleries that have been founded in recent years. The book also includes descriptions of the legendary bottles that have been released, as well as information on bars where Japanese whisky can be found.
