[Review] Akkeshi Blended Whisky Shosetsu – Characteristics, Taste, List Price, Where can I buy it?

Akkeshi Blended Whisky Shosetsu, the 13th in the Akkeshi Twenty-Four solar terms series, was released on November 27 by Kenten Jitsugyo for 13,200 yen (tax included). It has a soft sweetness characteristic of Akkeshi Blended, and a spicy yet oriental, somewhat Japanese ingredient taste from the key malt, Mizunara oak barrel maturation.

[Late November 2023 release] Akkeshi Blended Whisky Shosetsu (Kenten Jitsugyo, Akkeshi Distillery)

Akkeshi Blended Whisky Shosetsu will be released in late November 2023 by Kenten Jitsugyo and Akkeshi Distillery for 13,200 yen (tax included). The aroma is of Potapota-yaki, hot omelet with soy sauce drizzled on it, smoke, citrus-like acidity, and sweetness. The aftertaste is of poivre rosé, orange sauce, and salted lemon.

Suntory's "Yamazaki Aged 25 Years" won the "Supreme Champion Spirit" award, the highest award in all categories, for the first time at the "ISC", a world-class liquor competition. Many other Japanese whiskies won awards. A list of Gold and above award-winning products are introduced here.

[Review]Akkeshi Single Malt Japanese Whisky Hakuro

Aged for more than 3 years in Hokkaido oak barrels, etc., with some of the original barley made from barley produced in Hokkaido. The aroma is characterized by a slightly smoky peat aroma that is different from the peatiness of previous Atsukishi wines. The oriental aroma peculiar to Mizunara oak is gradually coming to the surface.

[Review] Akkeshi Blended Whisky Shoman

The key malt is all Hokkaido Quercus crispula. The cask composition is a diverse blend of bourbon, sherry, wine, quercus crispus, and rum. The fruity top, oriental aroma like incense, and smoky aroma follow each other, and the round mouthfeel like honey, citrus, herbs, and tidal flavors are typical of Akkeshi.

This is the 11th in the Akkeshi Whisky "Twenty-Four solar terms Series." The complex and deep flavor is created by the emphasis on the sweetness of tropical fruits, maple, and honey, and the peat unique to Akkeshi, such as charcoal, grilled sausage, bacon, and white pepper.

"Keichitsu" is savory and sweet, with a slight peaty aftertaste. It also has a sweet, whole wheat cookie-like aroma.
