[October 15, 2023] Hyakumangoku Whisky Festa In Kanazawa2023

The first "Whisky Festival from Kanazawa" was held in July 2017. The second will be held in October 2019, and this year, 2023, will be the third. In addition to whisky, there will be booths for the hottest craft gin, beer, and Kanazawa's delicious gourmet food.

“Yamazaki Aged 25 Years” and “Hibiki 30 Years Old” won at the International Spirits Challenge 2023. Other GOLD and above award-winning products are also introduced.

Suntory's "Yamazaki Aged 25 Years" won the "Supreme Champion Spirit" award, the highest award in all categories, for the first time at the "ISC", a world-class liquor competition. Many other Japanese whiskies won awards. A list of Gold and above award-winning products are introduced here.

SAKURAO B&D plans to open “SAKURAO YOSHIWA WHISKY PARK (tentative name)”, a theme park with a whisky distillery attached

SAKURAO B&D announced plans to open "SAKURAO YOSHIWA WHISKY PARK (tentative name)", a theme park with a scenic whisky distillery. "SAKURAO YOSHIWA WHISKY PARK (tentative name)", a new whisky distillery, will be established on the grounds of the "Enchanted Village" in Yoshiwa, located in the mountains of Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The total investment will be several billion yen. Construction is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025.

Participation is limited to the first 300 people who have a Whisky Expert (WE), Professional (WP), Lecturer (WL) or other Connoisseur qualification only.

[Released mid-September 2023] YUZA Asahimachi Wine Barrel Aged Whisky (Yuza Distillery)

The casks are French oak from Troncais, fine wine casks from Seguin Moreau, one of the world's top manufacturers, which are also used by the leading chateaux in France. The taste is deep, with the sweetness of the malt blended with the gorgeous flavour of the wine.

[Review] Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu Red Wine Cask 2023

This whisky is very fruity and also has a firm spicy character. The aroma is wonderful, and the alcohol attack is firm but smooth. The spiciness of cinnamon along with the fruity aroma leaves the nostrils as one, and the tannininess and spiciness characteristic of red wine casks come together and envelop you in a long aftertaste.
