On March 22, 2026, we will host a special seminar at BAR Shinkai featuring Mr. Katsuyuki Tatsuzaki, Director of the Akkeshi Distillery. The event will consist of three parts: an “Akkeshi Distillery Seminar & Tasting,” “Food Pairing,” and a “Fan Meet-and-Greet.”

 

This is a rare opportunity to learn about the philosophy, background, and depth of flavor of Akkeshi Whisky directly from the master distiller himself and to taste it firsthand.

This event features a triple program spanning a full five hours. a seminar, food pairing, and a fan meet-and-greet.

Event Details

This seminar will be held in three parts.

Part 1: Akkeshi Distillery Seminar & Tasting(4:00 PM – 5:30 PM)

Learn about the philosophy behind whisky making, the aging environment, and the flavor characteristics of Akkeshi Whisky, including the latest information from the distillery.
We will also conduct a tasting of five types of Akkeshi Whisky.

Part 2: Food Pairing(5:30 PM – 7:30 PM)

Enjoy a five-course meal featuring Hokkaido ingredients, paired with Akkeshi Whisky.

Part 3: Fan Meet & Greet(7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)

An exchange event with staff from the Akkeshi Distillery, members of BAR Shinkai, and all participants.
