As part of the move, information on the launch of a new brand, Nikka Frontier, has been released. We would like to introduce this whisky, which had been talked about a little before it was officially announced.
1. Nikka Frontier
.
“Nikka Frontier” was developed on the occasion of Nikka Whisky’s 90th anniversary to return to its roots and pass on to future generations the frontier spirit of the company’s founder, Masataka Taketsuru, who pioneered the history of Japanese whisky.
By using the heavy peat malt base from the Yoichi distillery, where the company was founded, as the key malt, and by blending malt whisky at a ratio of 51% or more, even though it is a blended whisky, the rich malt aroma and pleasant smoky flavor can be enjoyed. In general, whisky production involves “cold filtration” to prevent the formation of cloudy and lees, but this product is “non-chill filtered” at room temperature, which allows a rich aroma and a complex flavor to be experienced. The bottle is designed to show the full range of liquid colors.
The bottle has a simple design that shows the full liquid color. The front of the bottle features a large “N” in the same font as the corporate logo “NIKKA WHISKY” in the center, and the “Nikka emblem” is applied to the cap seal. On the back side, a design of a sacred straw rope is engraved. This is derived from the fact that Masataka Taketsuru’s birthplace was a sake brewer, and the distillery’s pot still is covered with a shimenawa, expressing the founder’s passion for whiskey making.
