3. lastly.
There have been many whisky tasting events, but it is rare for the distiller Miyake Seisakusho and the cask maker Ariake Sangyo to take part in such an event, and it is definitely a very valuable event.
Regarding the purpose of the event, the organisers also stated that “the aim of this event is to enliven and enhance the further development of Japanese whisky and the recognition of emerging distilleries both domestically and internationally, and to deepen the awareness of true Japanese whisky that meets the definition, together with all visitors through this event. We are delighted to be working with you.” He stated. One of the objectives of the event is to deepen awareness of true Japanese whisky that meets the definition, which is a very sympathetic aspect of the event. Whisky distilleries are still popping up all over Japan. The number of distilleries is approaching 100. I think we are moving into an age where whisky lovers will be able to identify the distilleries that have the ambition and commitment to their craft.
■ Upcoming whisky festivals.
