Information about the lottery application for “Single Malt Kanosuke Distillery Limited Bottle #006” has been released in the email newsletter and SNS of Komasa Kanosuke Distillery Co.

The lottery will be held for five days from March 30 to April 3 at 10:00 a.m. on the web. Kanosuke Distillery Limited Edition Whisky has been released consistently, and the lottery is held each time.
Unlike the 700ml Limited Edition and the recently released Single Malt Kanosuke (standard model), the distillery limited edition is a 200ml mini bottle, with the concept of “a single malt with a completely different character depending on the combination of ingredients, casks and aging period”. You can enjoy the “different types of sake made” at the Kanosuke Distillery every time you drink it. The distillery produces only a small amount of this single malt, and it is basically sold only at the distillery, so fans will not want to miss this opportunity.

4. About Kanosuke Distillery

Kanosuke Distillery started operation in 2017.
It stands on a spacious site of approximately 9,000 m2 along Fukiage beach on the west coast of Kagoshima Prefecture and is dotted with various facilities. The U-shaped, two-story main building houses distilling facilities, a bar with a great view, and a store selling original goods, allowing visitors to experience whisky making up close and personal.

The main feature of the Kanosuke Distillery is that it is equipped with three pot stills (distillers), each with a capacity of 6,000, 3,000, and 1,600 liters. Each has a capacity of 6,000 liters, 3,000 liters, and 1,600 liters, respectively, which is the norm for craft distilleries (small distilleries) around the world. Whisky is usually distilled twice, and Kanosuke Distillery uses pot stills with different neck shapes and angles of the upper line arm during the second distillation (redistillation) to create a different aroma and flavor of the original whisky.

5. Single Malt Kanosuke Lineup

5-1. Single Malt Kanosuke

“Single Malt Kanosuke”, the first standard Japanese whisky from the Kanosuke Distillery

The distillery’s concept was to create a mellow whisky with a Kanosuke Distillery feel, utilizing the traditional “distillation” and “barrel storage” techniques of Komasa Brewery, which have been cultivated through the production of “Mellowed Kozuru”. The distillery is made with the concept of “mellow whisky with the Kanosuke Distillery’s character”. The key ingredient is non-peat malt, aged in American white oak litchi casks, and vatted in multiple barrels. It was nonchill filtered, watered down to 48%, and bottled.
The label is designed with a motif of the setting sun and horizon over the East China Sea seen from the BAR of the Kanosuke Distillery. (From the manufacturer’s website)
