The latest information on Whisky Festival 2022 has been released. This article will include information on ticket sales, the lottery for original bottles, and other information, so please read to the end!

1.Whisky Festival Overview

An exhibition and tasting event where whiskys from around the world gather. More than 70 distilleries, liquor stores, bars, and other booths from Japan and abroad will be on display. Not only whisky manufacturers, but also food manufacturers and bar tool manufacturers exhibit their products, making this event a truly enjoyable event not only for whisky fans, but also for bar lovers and bartenders.
In addition, you can enjoy whisky cocktails made by Japan’s top bartenders, and attend special seminars given by gorgeous lecturers.

Whisky Festival 2022 Ticket Sales Information

Thank you for your patience. Here is the information on ticket sales. Please refer to the information in this article if you are planning to purchase tickets, as the release date and the time of the second part of the Whisky Festival 2022 have been changed in the previously introduced article.

Whiskey Culture Institute Members Only Pre-sale February 1, 12:00 start, limited to 250 tickets per section.

General sale February 8, 12:00 start Limited to 550 tickets per section.

Tickets will be sent out in early March.

Admission Fee4,400 yen (tax included) * Limited to 800 people for each session

* To buy pre-sale tickets, you need a Whisky Culture Institute membership number.

* Pre-sale admission tickets can only be purchased for members themselves.

*A maximum of one ticket can be purchased for each day.

*One ticket per person is required for admission to the festival.

3.Original Bottle Lottery Sales Details

The contents of the original whisky that will be sold by lottery have been announced. The label design for the new release is also taken from the 801-piece illustrated fish book, commonly known as “Glover’s Fish Book” which was created by Thomas Glover’s son, Tomisaburo Kuraba, over the course of his life.

There will be five types of this release, with 160 bottles each sold. Right now, information on four types has been disclosed. (As of February 2)

You can apply for each type of bottle with one ticket, but you can only win one of the bottles.

The application period is from late February to mid-March.

The application method will be emailed to the email address at the time of ticket purchase.

Winners will be announced around March 24. The tickets will be mailed to you after the event via cash on delivery.

For every 3,200 tickets sold for the Whisky Festival, a total of 800 bottles of original whisky will be sold. This means that the chances of winning are 25%. Don’t you feel like you’re going to win!

(1).Whisky Galore Vol.29 December 2021 issue

In the December 2021 issue of Whisky Galore, published by the Whisky Culture Research Institute, we report on 11 Japanese craft distilleries, including some that are open to the public for the first time, under the title of “Japanese Whisky Craft Frontline,” the first of three consecutive issues. Why did the popularity of Japanese whisky and the craft boom occur? We will examine with interviews. (2). Japanese Whisky as an Education for Business

This is a book written by Mamoru Tsuchiya, a world-famous whisky critic and representative of the Whisky Culture Research Institute, titled “Japanese Whisky as a Culture that Works for Business” .
The book covers the basics of whisky, the introduction of whisky to Japan, the birth of Japanese whisky, advertising strategies and the rise of Japanese whisky, and the current rise of craft distilleries. This is a book that summarizes Japanese whisky in a very easy to understand way.

(3). Whisky and I (Masataka Taketsuru)

Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky, devoted his life to brewing whisky in Japan. This is a revised and reprinted version of the autobiography of a man who simply loved whisky and talked about himself. The book vividly depicts the days when he went to Scotland alone to study as a young man and overcame many hardships to complete Japanese whisky, as well as his companion, Rita.

(4). A Letter of Challenge from a New Generation Distillery

Launching in 2019. With the world experiencing an unprecedented whisky boom, what were the managers of craft distilleries thinking and what were their thoughts as they took on the challenge of making whisky? This book tells the stories of 13 craft distillery owners, including Ichiro Hido of Venture Whisky, famous for his Ichirose Malt, who inspired the birth of craft distilleries in Japan.

(5). Whiskey Rising

This is the Japanese version of Whisky Risng, published in the US in 2016, with much updated content. Not only does it describe the history of Japanese whisky in detail, but it also includes data on all the distilleries in Japan, including the craft distilleries that have been founded in recent years. The book also includes descriptions of the legendary bottles that have been released, as well as information on bars where Japanese whisky can be found.
